Professional Comments: Associate Judge Faire is one of the longer serving judges.  Good at the perfunctory legal duties of the Associate Judge.  Efficient and comfortable in the process of dealing with rudimentary law.  Mostly out of his legal depth when it gets into anything other than basic legal and factual cases.
Background / Education: Graduated LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland in 1971 and joined the Hamilton law firm of Stace Hammond Grace and Partners as a common law partner.

In 1972 he was admitted to the partnership of Stace Hammond Grace & Bishop and between 1972 and 1977 was also senior lecturer part-time at the Business Management Faculty, University of Waikato.

Judge Faire was managing partner of Stace Hammond Grace and Partners when he joined the High Court bench as a master in June 1996. He became an associate judge of the High Court when the title changed in May 2004 and is based at the Auckland High Court.
