Professional Comments: Power has unquestionably had a negative influence on Justice Cooper.  The Judge has developed a nasty side and a vindictive nature on the bench.  Even his friends recognise that being on Judge Cooper’s good side is more important than being on the right side of the law.In 2012 Mark Cooper J headed up the monumental Royal Commission of inquiry into the Christchurch earthquake, culminating in a closing speech which perhaps set the tone for the panel’s underlying objectives.  Reportedly, Judge Cooper is good with cats.
