|Professional Comments:||One of the more moderate and contemplative judges. Broadly experienced but easily intimidated by the powerful establishment influences that govern many judges’ decisions. Despite being a Queens’ Club member he has had to work hard to be accepted into the privileged Auckland legal establishment.
kiwisfirst disagrees with the high rating of Justice Heath for one reason; Heath J routinely suppresses evidence, conducts secret hearings and seals judgments. Such conduct is inexcusable in a court system which ostensibly adheres to open and transparent justice. Strong Hamilton connections. Formerly of Thackeray Chambers.
