Justice Dobson has a checkered past in acting for government agencies covering up corruption. As a judge, Dobson J can be impulsive to the point of reckless. He is not the type of judge to disclose his financial conflicts but will disqualify himself if litigants before him do their homework and push the issue. The latter seems self-evident as a matter of law, but not for the typical New Zealand judge. Most will not do so. Half a thumb up for Dobson! |
